Ultralight Alpha Direct Hoodie: The Most Versatile Layer

At ~110g/3.9oz, it’s an essential ultralight piece that delivers warmth without the bulk, whether you’re moving or resting.

How to chose my Alpha Direct Weight?

You can choose between different Alpha Direct fabric weights:

60gsm, 90gsm or 120gsm - depending on your needs. Whether you’re an experienced ultralighter fine-tuning your layering system or preparing for your first thru-hike, you can pick the weight that best matches your adventure, the expected conditions and how hot or cold you tend to run. 

60gsm is the thinnest, lightest insulation layer you can find. It literally pack into your pocket, side pocket, fanny pack, running vest. You got it, it's the most packable. Its warmth to weight ratio is crazy, throw a wind jacket or a rain jacket on top of it to maximise its capability.

90gms is the most versatile, ultralight yet proven warmth under a shell in cold temperatures. It is my go-to on any adventure where I am unsure of the weather conditions. 

120gsm is the warmest. It is like a warm hug and it replaces a puffy jacket. When Jordan and I hiked 2000 km across France's most remote mountains we ditched our down puffy jackets for the 120 Alpha Direct. This fleece is lighter, brings the same warmth but doesn't lose its insulation properties if wet or damp.

This hoodie isn’t just for hiking, it's for everything. I use it in the morning when the air is crisp, as an insulation layer at camp and even inside my quilt at night for extra warmth. It’s so light and packable that I’ve even used it as a pillowcase when I needed one.

Sizing - Unisex - Alpha-Direct 60/90/120 

(S) - Up to 165 cm/5'4"

(M) - 165cm-185cm/5'4"-6'1"

(L) - 180cm-190cm+ /6'1" and up 

Chest is the circumference below your armpit including full bust.

Natural waist is the measurement at the most narrow point of your waist.

Sleeve is measured from center back, to shoulder, along arm past your elbow to your wrist.

If you are in between sizes, chest is the best predictor of size.

If in doubt in sizing, chose a size up.
