About Us
At Terra Ultralight, we believe in the power of minimalism and ultralight gear to transform outdoor adventures. Every gram counts on the trail and the right equipment can make the difference between a grueling trek and an unforgettable journey. Our mission is simple: craft lightweight, durable gear that enhances performance, comfort and freedom on the move.
Our gear is inspired by our own adventures and rigorously tested in the field. We don’t make gear for the sake of it—we make gear we love, trust and carry ourselves. Each piece is handmade and hand-sewn, carefully crafted from materials like Alpha Direct that meet the highest standards of performance and longevity.
The Story Behind Terra Ultralight
The idea for Terra Ultralight was born in the dirt, on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). It was there, under long days of sun and quiet nights under the stars, that we — Candy Crush and Dice — met and discovered a shared passion for crafting our own gear. Candy Crush had already crafted her own ultralight clothing and stuff sacks, and she was inspired to do so after noticing a gap in the Canadian market for high-quality ultralight gear. As we hiked towards Canada, we learned firsthand how every gram mattered and how the right equipment could make long days on the trail more enjoyable and efficient. A month after completing our PCT thru-hike, Terra Ultralight came to life.
As our company grew, we embraced a name that reflects our values and vision. “Terra” means “earth,” symbolizing our commitment to exploring lightly and respectfully on the lands we love, while creating ultralight gear that empowers others to do the same.
Why Ultralight Matters
Being ultralight isn’t just a design choice—it’s a philosophy. Every piece of gear is crafted to reduce weight without sacrificing durability or functionality. Traveling lighter allows adventurers to move farther, faster, and more comfortably, while fully enjoying the journey.
At Terra Ultralight, we’re not just making gear—we’re building a community of adventurers who value craftsmanship, sustainability, and the freedom that comes from traveling light. Whether you’re a weekend hiker or a long-distance thru-hiker, our goal is to help you explore farther, lighter and with greater respect for the world around you.
Meet the Team
Dice
Dice is fluent in both French and English, loves mountains and despises mosquitoes. A lifelong adventurer, he started hiking and camping at the age of 8 and has since logged over 6,000 km of backcountry trails. Dice enjoys crafting his own gear, carrying unusual trail items and can often be found trying out a new dance move in the middle of the trail. When he’s not on the trail, you’ll find him watching anime, trying out new recipes or challenging friends to a game of Catan or chess.

Candy Crush
Candy Crush has an undeniable love for orange and an even greater love for chocolate. Her first backpacking trip was a 14-day hike, and since then she’s covered over 8,000 km on trail. A skilled maker, she enjoys sewing her own clothes and is known to have a fully stocked craft cupboard for any occasion. When she’s not hiking or crafting, she can often be found curled up on the couch with a book in hand… sometimes even asleep mid-page.

The Tramily
Along the trail, we were surrounded by our tramily — our trail family. Their encouragement, camaraderie and shared laughter carried us through hundreds of miles of wilderness. They taught us the power of community, resilience and support, and those values remain at the heart of our brand today.
